How Acoustic Slats Work
Wood slat panels combine a decorative wooden veneer surface with an acoustic felt backing. The slats diffuse high frequencies while the felt absorbs mid-range sound, reducing echo and reverberation.
Where They Perform Best
Open-plan offices, restaurants, cinemas, recording studios, hotel lobbies and residential home theatres — any space where speech intelligibility and comfort matter.
NRC Ratings
Quality acoustic slat panels achieve NRC (Noise Reduction Coefficient) ratings of 0.6–0.9, meaning they absorb 60–90% of sound energy that strikes them.
Design Versatility
Slat widths, spacing and wood finishes can be customised to match any interior scheme — from minimalist white oak to dark walnut statement walls.
Installation
Panels install over a timber or metal batten framework with adhesive or mechanical fixings. The air gap behind the panel enhances low-frequency absorption.
